Mostly fine at first on Saturday morning, but breezy and turning cloudy as a weakening band of showery rain crosses from the northwest. Some eastern parts staying dry. Brighter during the afternoon, leaving a fine end to the day. Maximum temperature 24 °C.

Tonight:

Some long clear spells for most of the region, with a rather cool night likely. Some cloud further west brings the chance of an isolated light shower. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Sunday:

A fine day with long spells of increasingly warm sunshine by the afternoon. Cloud most likely to affect western areas. Maximum temperature 25 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Temperatures climbing during this period, becoming very warm into the new working week. Some sunshine expected, although on the cloudy side at times, with sporadic thundery showers becoming more likely.

A changeable pattern across northwestern areas of the UK at first with spells of rain interspersed with drier interludes. Further southeast, predominantly fine, with a spell of hot weather breaking at the start of this period. Much of England could still see warm or very warm temperatures for at least a couple of days and there is a possibility that the heat could last further into the week, especially in the south, where there is also the possibility of some thunderstorms. Beyond this, probably a resumption of widely somewhat fresher conditions, with a lot of dry weather to be had in the south under the influence of high pressure. Meanwhile a rather more changeable and breezier theme will continue further to the north but it may become increasingly settled.

High pressure, and therefore largely settled conditions overall, appears more likely at first. Although dry weather is likely to dominate, periods of rain or showers and thunderstorms may develop at times. Above average temperatures overall seem most likely, with the potential for further hot spells to develop, especially in the east and south. By the turn of the month, there are signals for high pressure to become less dominant with perhaps a greater chance of some rain, though there is some uncertainty in this aspect of the forecast.
